All international and U.S. applicants admitted to the MPH program are automatically considered for scholarship support. The admission application serves as the scholarship application.
Xochy "So-Chee" Hurtado
42:07
@Queen - for me personally it was a balance that I had to learn to get better at. I was VERY excited about the courses and took a bit more than I should have early on, but still managed to make it all work. I would suggest no more than 7 hours a term to keep your balance sane. Now, some courses look light, but require a lot of reading, it will be important to do a little homework on the courses you plan on taking before deciding for sure. It is all VERY do-able. 4 years is plenty of time to get it all done! Just my two cents. =)
Linda Fataki
42:44
@Taylor, were you a part-time online Student?

@Zoe, MSPH degrees do not require 2 years of post-bac experience. They are 2 year programs based in one of our 10 Departments; the 2nd year is an internship.
Debarati Kundu

Here is a funding resource guide https://publichealth.jhu.edu/sites/default/files/2022-01/funding-resource-guide2223.pdf - this guide includes details on funding opportunities for international students
Shae Mccarron
58:09
Sorry, not admissions related, but have you found that a partial non-profit/profit model has benefitted marginalized communities for that region that might be struggling with disproportionately distributed health resources? What is the impact on community health outcomes for the San Antonio area?
Marie Diener-West
58:12
@Debarati, ScM are considered as academic degrees within a Department and these are meant to be research-oriented. Research skills can be gained in the MPH, too, but the focus is not limited to a Department.
Hannah Gleason
58:55
^ This funding resource guide also has funding opportunities for domestic students as well! (https://publichealth.jhu.edu/sites/default/files/2022-01/funding-resource-guide2223.pdf)

I could not agree more Xochy!
Debarati Kundu
01:03:34
@Marie, thank you! That clarifies my doubt. Also, I had math and biology in my high school before pursuing my bachelors in dentistry. Does this qualify as prior coursework which is a requirement for MPH? Or do I need to take these courses prior to MPH program?
Raman Mohammad
01:04:03
the conditions of the registration with the programs are difficult for international students?
Shanada Monestime/GO2 for Lung Cancer
01:04:04
For some of the courses in the catalog it stated in person only. For part time students wanting to take that class is there any other way for us to take in-person only classes?
Shae Mccarron
01:05:03
Did that AmeriCorps food systems term (CLECL 1700 hr here!) apply towards your two years of experience?
Marie Diener-West
01:05:10
@Shanada, since the pandemic, a fair number of our courses are "hybrid" - onsite and online at the same.
Xochy "So-Chee" Hurtado
01:05:14
@Shae - more than I could cover in chat but happy to address in a breakout if time permits.
Shanada Monestime/GO2 for Lung Cancer

Linda Fataki
01:12:20
Just making sure I understood what @Marisa said: If I am pursuing a degree in another school and then enroll in MPH at John Hopkins, I'm considered as a dual degree student. Correct?

Since it is a competitive program, I suggest you ensure that you write a thorough, thoughtful statement that contains your strengths, leadership ability, team work, voluntary services, achievements, along with your understanding of public health, demonstrating how you are a fit for the program plus your purpose for pursuing the MPH program and your vision for how you will utilize the degree.
Hana Neutz

For part-time enrollees: There is no lower or upper limit on the number of credits. // For part-time enrollees who also seek financial aid: You have to enroll in 6 credits minimum per term to be eligible for financial aid.
