Transatlantic Cooperation: Shaping the future together in uncertain times
The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is honored to host Valdis Dombrovskis, the European Commission Executive Vice-President for an Economy that Works for People and EU Trade Commissioner for a discussion on the priorities for future EU-U.S. cooperation.   In June, the EU and the U.S. held a successful Summit that underlined the benefits of transatlantic cooperation across a wide agenda, including shaping the digital transformation, reinvigorating transatlantic trade ties, working to resolve bilateral disputes, and reinforcing cooperation on trade-related aspects of climate change, environment and workers’ rights, as well as resilient supply chains.  Now is the time to translate that agenda into actions.

EVP Dombrovskis will be in Washington, DC, on September 27-28 for meetings with the U.S. administration, members of Congress, and stakeholders before heading to Pittsburgh for the inaugural meeting of the joint EU-U.S. Trade and Technology Council (TTC). This will be EVP Dombrovskis’ first visit to the United States since he took over the trade portfolio in 2020.
